{"tool":"get_job","result":{"requisitionId":"4500-6872","client":"SMC","title":"Automation Account Representative","description":"PURPOSE<br><br>The Account Representative maintains and grows relationships with customers while achieving an assigned sales and growth goal.<br><br>This position is responsible for the acquisition of new account revenues, retention and service of existing business customers, and<br><br>the continuous pursuit of profitable growth opportunities.<br><br><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES</b><br><br>&bull; Meet or exceed target sales goals as detailed by Branch and Sales Managers<br><br>&bull; Proactive management of strategic accounts<br><br>&bull; Serves as the primary contact for assigned customer accounts and is responsible for customer satisfaction.<br><br>&bull; Penetrate assigned accounts by selling new or additional products to current buyers, finding additional buyers within the existing customer, and/or selling to additional customer locations.<br><br>&bull; Develop relationships with key decision-makers within designated strategic target accounts; respected by customer's top management team.<br><br>&bull; Sells the company's complete offering of products and services<br><br>&bull; Aware and in pursuit of opportunities for account growth and new business<br><br>&bull; Document sales calls, projects, opportunities, contacts, success reports and activity in CRM<br><br>&bull; Completes detailed SAP and forecasts as required<br><br>&bull; Effectively utilize SMC tools and resources to ensure organizational consistency and efficiency<br><br>&bull; Complete market reports as new and relevant information becomes available<br><br>&bull; Completes required technical training and development objectives within the assigned time frame<br><br>&bull; Demonstrate initiative and proactive skills with co-workers, peers, and customers<br><br>&bull; Assist in the training of Sales Trainees and Sales Associates when appropriate<br><br>&bull; Successfully complete other duties as prescribed by the Branch Manager/Sales Manager<br><br><b>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT</b><br><br>&bull; Fast paced environment (includes both office and field work)<br><br>&bull; Travel with some extended stay away from home<br><br>&bull; Physically capable of lifting SMC products and displays up to 50 lbs.<br><br>&bull; Varying work hours<br><br><b>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</b><br><br>&bull; Completion of the SMC sales training program or equivalent sales and industry experience<br><br>&bull; Comprehensive understanding of pneumatic components and their application<br><br>&bull; Thorough knowledge and understanding of SMC policies and procedures, preferred<br><br>&bull; Thorough knowledge and understanding of SMC product line, preferred<br><br>&bull; Basic understanding of competitive product lines<br><br>&bull; Excellent communication and problem-solving skills<br><br>&bull; Proficient in the use of computers and ability to learn new programs and tools as required<br><br>&bull; Clean driving record<br><br><p style=\"opacity: 0.0;\">For internal use only: Sales001</p><br><b>Req id:</b> 4500","department":"Sales","departmentId":"68ae15cb9f66fa003420c7b8","employmentType":[{"value":"Full Time"}],"datePosted":"2026-05-11T00:00:00.000Z","applyUrl":"https://careers.smcusa.com/apply","attributes":["Sales, Marketing & Product Management"],"recruiterAssigned":null,"address":[{"city":"San Jose","state":"California","country":"USA","zipCode":95101,"address1":"","location":{"type":"Point","coordinates":["",""]}}],"city":"San Jose","state":"California","zipCode":"95101","country":"USA","salaryMin":null,"salaryMax":null,"salRateType":null,"brandId":412027,"createdAt":"2026-05-11T00:00:00.000Z","updatedAt":"2026-05-13T16:00:02.358Z"},"summary":"Job details for Automation Account Representative"}
